June 3, 2008 Dear Candidate for the Ohio General Assembly: On behalf of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO), we would like to commend you for your willingness to run for public office. OAPSE represents mote than 38,000 working men and women who daily perform the Services of our schools, Head Starts, MRDD’s and libraries in Ohio.
Each election we make endorsements in contests where we find candidates who are supportive of issues that positively affect working families. We are enclosing a questionnaire that will be used, in part, to determine those candidates we will endorse. Additionally, candidates may be asked to participate in a screening interview. We will share the information contained in the questionnaires with the OAPSE statewide endorsement committee that will meet in July to make its decisions. Currently our records indicate that we have not receiver your completed questionnaire. You must complete and sign the questionnaire and return it to OAPSE by June 25, 2008 to be considered for an endorsement.
